My name is Philip, co-founder of Love Without Reason, and I have a dream to see the world cleft-free! In the month of July, I am going with a team of doctors to Zimbabwe to do surgeries for 75 patients with cleft lip. Would you help me bring new smiles into their lives?
You see, 18 year ago, my doctors told my parents that I would be born dead because I didn't have a stomach. The doctors also told my parents that I will be born with several holes in my heart, have various mental and physical deformities. However, after a miracle, I was born alive, with a stomach!!! The doctors diagnosed me with Goldenhar Syndrome and said that I would basically be a vegetable all my life because I didn't have a corpus collosum. I was born without my right eye and right ear and I had a cleft lip and cleft palate. Over the years I went through 23 surgeries and procedures with the help of some amazing doctors like Dr. Larry Sargent.
Today my passion is to help other children like me. Children born with clefts are sold into Human and Sex Trafficking networks, some are even sold for their organs in the black market. The pain, the shame, the bullying are happening to these young people all over the world. Children with clefts are considered to be a curse and not allowed to go to school, get married or get jobs.
I am on a mission to help Love Without Reason to raise $50,000 through this campaign. You can donate $5, $10, $50, $100 or $1,000, or even more as you feel. Because I had my surgeries while I was young today I am a motivational speaker, a musician, and a senior in one of the most amazing schools in the world, The McCallie School.
