Hi my name is Lennon and i'm fundraising for my Housing Benefit debt , which I was wrongly put into last year.

I was made homeless in November 2023 and went from accommodation to accommodation was I was in need and had no where to go.

I finally settled down in an accommodation which I was 17 at the time to keep a roof over my head. I was claiming Universal Credit which I was receiving 290 pound a month as that was the only way I stay there. I paid 70 a month in rent there, as the council was topping up the rest as I didn't have a job at the time.

the job centre eventually cut my universal credit as I was on it for some time at that point and I couldn't find a job, so it then made me not eligible to stay there. they then back dated my housing benefit and are making me pay back 3/4 months worth of rent.

I only earn 12 pound an hour at my current job, I have rent to pay, utility and food to pay, as well as getting the train and bus just to get to work.

they are taking money from my wages to recover this debt, which I can't afford. I've had to get into debt just to travel to work just to keep my job to live.

its become a massive burden on me, and has impacted my mental health massively.
