Medical Bills, Loss of Income

A near tragedy befell the family of Randy and Heather Sturos on Monday, July 28 of this year when their two year old son Gavin suffered a skull fracture in a freak accident in their home. Mom and Dad were both home with Gavin and, while Mom was downstairs attending to a mess the dogs had made, and Dad was busy in another room, a horrific turn of events happened. Gavin apparently pushed out the screen of a second story window and fell, seriously injuring himself. Gavin was transported to Hurley hospital in Flint, Michigan where they determined he had sustained a skull fracture. Gavin was in the pediatric ICU for four days. He will be wearing a special helmet 24/7 for the next three months, and he will need subsequent follow up visits and CT scans.

Heather runs a day care out of their home which will be on hold indefinitely due to Gavin’s injuries, and the need for focused care on him alone. The day care business helps with their family expenses as Randy works full time and attends nursing school. Gavin’s family is very fortunate and thankful to God that his injuries did not result in a fatality as it very easily could have. Unfortunately, the aftermath does pose a financial concern. At this time the couple and their son will move in with family to help with expenses.

We are asking consideration for funding to help this family offset the out of pocket costs of Gavin’s care and help make up for the now lost income from the day care business. Please consider helping this family recover from this difficulty.

And may God bless you and yours.
