The CDS 8th graders are eager to complete over 400 hours of hands on community service in your honor! The kids will complete a variety of service projects that include caring for the environment, spending time with the aging population, and working with underserved communities. Some of the organizations that will benefit from the 8th graders time include the Children’s Institute, Jewish Association on Aging, Repair the World and many more!
To support the CDS Class of 2019’s educational Israel trip, we have created a “Pay it Forward” campaign. With your donation a CDS 8th grader will “pay it forward” by performing meaningful community service in your honor (or in honor of a recipient you choose).
For generations, Community Day School graduates have been prepared to see and feel Israel with their eyes, hearts, and minds wide open. Our alumni tell us time and again how their CDS education and 8th Grade trip to Israel empowered them to be resilient, confident, and informed Jews who love Israel and can articulate Israel’s place in the world and connection to their lives.
As a donor, you will not only have community service performed in your honor, but you will be investing in the future by:
1) Inspiring teens to pursue a shared passion for the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world)
2) Mobilizing volunteer work that improves the lives of others and positively changes the world
3) Supporting the continued growth and education of our students on their two-week adventure in Israel beginning in May 2019
Suggested donation amounts:
$50 = 1 hour of community service in your honor
$100 = 2 hours of community service in your honor
