Class 506 Cab Renovation

Donation protected
This goFundme has been set up to raise funds to help with the renovation work and for transportation to eventually bring it back to the Woodhead Railway Museum at Guide Bridge Station.

The class 506 units where the workhorse of the Woodhead route between Manchester & Hadfield better now known as the Glossop Line.

Richard Benyon who currently has the Cab in his Cab Yard is currently renovating the Cab to enable it to be on display at the Museum, however there is much work needed both external and internal to bring it back to how it was when operational.

Richard has said that there is quite an amount of welding work to be done which is one of the reasons this goFundme has been created to help pay for the welding work.

The Cab will eventually be the main focal point of the Museum to allow visitors to enjoy the Cab once its in position at the Museum.

We are grateful for any donations made no matter how large or small as every penny counts to our cause.

UPDATE:
The roof of the Cab has been treated with a waterproof coating and sealed.
