A unique opportunity presents itself. For $240k, the Clarksville Covenant House can own a 3 bedroom house and 3.5 acres with an adjacent church building and two renting congregations that will effectively pay her operating costs for the foreseeable future. 100 percent of the funds will go directly into purchasing this home for ex-foster kids, giving them hope for the future.
I am the pastor of The Way in Clarksville, Tennessee, and Dairian, our middle daughter of three, remembers when we caught the foster and adoption bug. Six adopted brothers later and she was left with a heart for the orphan. At one point, our family started the Clarksville Covenant House in our home, taking in ex-foster kids. After several years, our home became too full so we stopped the ministry, but in Dairian's heart, it never stopped.
Today, the Clarksville Covenant House is nearing completion, ready to open this fall. Partnering with her church, The Way , we have refurbished the parsonage and are preparing to house up to six girls. Dairian will live there full time to minister to them, to offer them hope and another way, to show them the love of Christ that they might live life more abundantly. 501c3 paperwork has already been submitted. Any additional funds raised will go into sustainment costs and other future costs such as transportation.
