As most of you know, I have been having a difficult time financially since my motorcycle accident 3 years ago, when I lost my full time employment in the Royal Canadian Navy.
On February 15th, my dog Clark Gable ingested some food waste in a petsitting incident, and ended up requiring hospitalization and surgery for bowel obstruction. The fees for the hospital stay, xrays, diagnostic tests, pain medication, antibiotics, antacids, and operation have come to approximately CDN $3000, and climbing as he is not yet ready to come home. The financing offered to me does not even half cover these fees.
I would be incredibly grateful for any help I get, as I'm sure anyone who has had a pet will understand; he has become the most important part of my everyday life in the two years since I adopted him, and has very much gotten me through the last couple years of uncertainty. Most of you also know I'm terrible at asking for help, but we all have to swallow our pride at some point to help the ones we care about, and I am completely out of other options to help him.
Thankfully, the day before this happened, I was declared medically fit by the military again; if all goes well, I will be working full time again by spring. Once this happens, I will donate every dollar I receive back to Town & Country K9 ResQ LTD, to sponsor a dog in training or needing medical attention; that is a promise, the progress of which I will make public.
