Clarice and Jolie

Some of you know this story:
I found a dog on Camp Bowie, almost getting hit. After a series of events, I found that the Dog was a boy named Jolie with 4 telephone numbers that did not work.
I ended up driving all around como showing Jolie to everyone and giving my number out.
After about an hour of driving and walking I get a call.
A woman by the name of Clarice called.
She and Jolie were at the plasma center on their weekly outting, where Clarice left Jolie tied up out front while she gave blood.
Jolie chewed through her leash and went on her own adventure. (Jolie is named after the Mr. and Mrs. Smith character)
Clarice has had Jolie for over 9 years. She rescued Jolie from the Humane Society when President Obama was elected. Jolie was one of 10.
Two years ago Clarice had a major heart attack and the apartment people found her out cold with Jolie standing guard.
From that point she spent 5 weeks in the hospital and up until this year was very ill.
Human Society took care of Jolie the entire time Clarice was in the hospital.
She told me she has a brother but really Jolie is her family.
While she was in the hospital, she was evicted and her car repossessed but all that didn’t matter because she had Jolie waiting for her.
She now lives in an apartment across from Lake Como across from a beautiful lake and park. She walks with Jolie in one hand and her cane in the other everywhere she goes.
She just got a job at the como community center answering phones, she’s saving for a car because Jolie prefers to drive around everywhere.
I told her we would visit. I bought dog food, tags for Jolie that have his name, Clarice’s name and both mine and her number.
With all that is going on in this world today God reminded me what grace, kindness, love and mercy truly are.
I am so grateful for Clarice and her loving, grace filled heart. I sat there and talked to her for well over an hour learning about her and her life. She is a remarkable woman.
She has a joy in her heart and a grateful spirit that a lot of us could learn from❤️
Since Grey was born, God has shown me and continues to show me so much goodness, kindness, generosity in this world.
Often from total strangers. I can’t help but believe it’s because God wants me to share what he is giving.
Today, I was in the right spot at the right time to be reminded from the right person about true joy, kindness, and love, I am reminded of what really matters.
In a workd where you can be anything, be kind.
