Follicular Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that affects the lymph nodes, causing a build up of B-Lymphocytes, or, white blood cells which are used to fight infection. Unfortunately, Follicular Lymphoma is considered incurable unless properly localized and treated with chemotherapy and possible radiation.
At this time, it has been found in two separate places in my body, which means that chemotherapy and possible radiation treatment is not only recommended, but has become a necessity if I have any hope of the cancer going in to remission.
While I am in treatment, I am still working towards maintaining as normal a life as possible through continuing work within the school district, working with special education students. This has been a passion of mine for years, as has my music, which has brought me great comfort since the diagnosis.
The more pressing matter is truly financial. I am hoping to raise $9000 to put towards my portion of the health care costs for treatment as well as timeoff work. This money will not only go towards my immediate treatment locally, but will help me with travel expenses that are needed in order to be able to fully treat this cancer.
I ask that you please consider donating to this cause, as I am also looking forward to being able to continue bringing music to the world and working with special needs children. To be able to look out in to an audience and see the members of the Fairbanks community enjoying themselves is a type of therapy in its own right. Please help me to be able to contnue this work, and to be able to continue to give back to you people who I so love.
