Clara's Fundraiser for CAUKIN Studio

Hi! my name is Clara Brehony. I am a final year masters student studying Architecture in UCD and will be travelling to Guatemala for 4 weeks in August to build a new school playground with CAUKIN Studio.

The project will be located at Colegio Mesoamerican in partnership with the Meso Foundation who have been running the school there for 25 years. The non-profit foundation is on a mission to empower the native people of Guatemala with opportunities. The school aims to create the right environment, tools, and connections to transform their students into tomorrow’s leaders.

The school’s playground fell into disrepair and has subsequently been taken down, leaving the students without a dedicated space to explore their full range of sensory and motor skills. We hope to create at least two play structures, catering to different ages groups and abilities. The project will provide the children with an experience that they’re unable to find at home or in a more typical playground - an enchanted world with a multi-sensory design.

I will be fundraising over the next few months for donations which will go directly towards to project in Guatemala. I am incredibly excited to be a part of this programme and any donations, big or small, are so appreciated.
