My beautiful 4-month-old granddaughter, Clara Bea, had emergency open-heart surgery on 7/13 to repair a congenital heart disorder called ALCAPA (anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery). This is a rare disorder that can only be corrected surgically.
Clara had a slowly progressing cough that started to seriously worry her parents. They took her to the ER at Nemours AI DuPont Hospital for Children on Friday, July 12, 2019 where she was quickly evaluated, hospitalized, and scheduled for surgery. The surgery went well but the recovery period is very critical.
She is in the pediatric cardiac ICU for an unknown amount of time, on a ventilator, being medicated while her heart strengthens.
Her parents, Kenny and Suzy, are taking leaves of absence from their jobs to be by her side.
They could sure use lots of prayers and good, positive thoughts and energy to Clara and they also could use some financial help since they are on unpaid leave.
