To make a tax-deductible donation, please go to our page on the Fractured Atlas site: (donations on through our GoFundMe page are not tax-deductible). Please let us know that your Fractured Atlas donation is for our GoFundMe campaign so I can also post it here and it will count towards our goals and matching!

Clapping Hands Farm would not be the magical place it is without its scholarship fund. This year, we are determined to raise more money than ever in order to offer the Clapping Hands experience to even more young people and their families. Here are some quick facts:

--In every one of Clapping Hands Farm’s arts and nature camps and workshops, ⅓ to ½ of campers come on scholarship. Campers are welcome regardless of their ability to pay.

--We reach out to serve children in challenging life situations, including special needs, domestic violence, children in foster care,  recent immigration, and serious illness or death in their families. Many of our campers are referred to us from local agencies.

--In 2019, we anticipate giving more than $40,000  in financial assistance. We provide scholarships for our Spring Break and Summer Camps, and our Year Round Programs.

--Donations made on this GoFundMe site have a small fee to cover credit card processing. There is a 2.9% standard processing fee plus $.30 for each donation, which we are happy to pay.

--You can also donate directly to Clapping Hands by sending a check to 3348 Alston Chapel Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312, and no fees will apply. Just let us know it's for this campaign and I can post it and it will add to our tally for our matching goals! Donations made on our GoFundMe platform are NOT tax deductible.

--Two MATCHING DONORS have pledged their support to our GoFundMe SUCCESS!
(modified 8/29/2019- our original matching goals had date deadlines. Our matching donors were kind enough to take the time pressure off and just aim for the goals with out the deadlines!)

* When we make it half-way to our goal ($4000) a generous matching donor will add $1000 to our total!!!! We have achieved this on August 29!
* Another donor is encouraging PARTICIPATION by donating $10 for EVERY person who donates BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30th. Donate $10 and she’ll double that. Get 10 friends to donate and she’ll give $100!!!! Please spread the word! We want a CROWD at our crowdfunding campaign! Louise has a goal of 100 donors!

THANK YOU for your donations and for SHARING the link to our campaign! Read on to learn more about Clapping Hands!

Since 2000, Clapping Hands Farm has been providing camps, workshops, and retreats focused on ART, CULTURE, and NATURE at a beautiful farm in Pittsboro, NC. Our camps include visual arts, theater, music, building and engineering, cultural camps, and outdoor education. Each program is enriching and inspiring thanks to the working artists and naturalists who share their crafts as lead teachers. We have created, and are committed to sustaining a diverse camp community with racial balance, economic access, and campers who bring a wide range of abilities and needs.

Finding and serving children in need is a priority for us. We greatly value our partnership with local agencies who refer campers to us from shelters for domestic violence, programs for children with special needs, and the foster care system. Our camp community includes at-risk youth, recent immigrants, and children dealing with serious illness or death in their family. Our goal is to create a peak experience for EVERY camper, every week.  This would not be possible without the incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic staff members and volunteers working to ensure every camper, no matter what their needs and abilities, can have a happy, successful week.

Clapping Hands Farm Camp provides unique and sustaining support to the families we serve. Camp provides a special kind of magic that just doesn't happen anywhere else. Families return year after year, kids who grew up at camp come back as counselors and teachers, and some of our campers now have children of their own coming as campers! Friendships and connections begin at camp, but continue into the year and beyond. Over and over, families have reported the unusual impact that camp has. It defies logic that one week of camp could provide a life changing experience, but it continues to happen again and again!

We DO NOT turn campers away for economic reasons. In order to sustain this practice, we must raise the funds to cover our hefty scholarship program. ALL of the donations raised in this crowdfunding campaign will go toward our scholarship fund! NOTE: On the GoFundMe crowdfunding platform, there is a 2.9% standard processing fee plus $.30 for each donation. (Which we are happy to pay.)

Help keep camp alive and flourishing by giving a donation of any size and sharing our campaign with your friends and families!  We are SO THANKFUL for the incredible support we receive from our beautiful community. We cannot do what we do without YOU.
