Hello everyone! It's Claire here!
I'm glad to say that I have been accepted to participate in a volunteer trip in May to Ecuador, South America with an organization called Help, Learn and Discover (HLD). For the past ten years, this company has provided students a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in a unique and comprehensive program appealing to their volunteer, travel, and academic interests.
I look forward to be exposed to the diversity of Ecuador, to participate in medical rotations, and to build homes for underprivileged families in the community of Jama.
This year, our collective goal is to build 20 homes, and it will cost approximately $5600 to build one. It is our intention that the relief of owning a home will relieve the burden placed upon the children of these families to work instead of attending school. We hope that our help will allow these children to have the opportunity to attend school, thereby furthering their education and increasing their livelihood.
**100% of the money we raise will go directly to the purchase of materials and tools to build the homes, and extra funds will go towards funding surgeries and other medical needs of the families, which they otherwise could not afford. Every penny will go DIRECTLY into funding this project.**
My personal goal is to raise a minimum of $1000 by May. Please join me in helping to build a brighter future for these families and support the cause! Any amount of donation is welcome. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you all~!
