Claire's Breast Cancer Fight

Our dear friend and former VCU teammate Claire was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Claire is a daughter, sister, wife and mother of a one and three year old.  She is also a born fighter.  
Claire is tenacious and ready for one of the toughest battles of her life, but she needs our help. The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is a difficult at any stage of life, but at only 40 years old and a mother of two small children it presents a new set of challenges. Claire is the most fun-loving, caring, funny, neurotically-organized, gutsiest and all around bad ass girl that you will ever meet. Claire will fight the fight, and we all know who will come out on top.  No question.  However, this funny friend of ours does need to be surrounded by our love and support at this time.  Pass the word on and help our sweet momma get back on her feet. And by that we mean, her fast feet. Soon after giving birth to her second child, Claire managed to knock out a Boston qualifying time at the Richmond Marathon and hopes to continue her efforts to train after her breast cancer surgery. We will be cheering our running super mom breast cancer survivor all the way!
We are reaching out to our network of family and friends for help. More information will be revealed about her diagnosis after her double mastectomy scheduled for July 2017.

-Surgery and Reconstruction
-Medical treatment costs
-Bills and expenses that will quickly add up while Claire is unable to work
-Child Care 
Claire’s prognosis is positive and her family and friends have no doubt she will come through this fight stronger than ever.
