I met Claire a year ago. We bonded immediately. I was just ending my chemo journey as she was about to start hers. Claire is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. It is impossible to meet Claire and not absolutely adore everything about her! From her sweet southern accent, to her stunning smile and heart-warming personality... Claire is one of those refreshingly real people who makes you feel completely comfortable, loved, and hopeful. It's no wonder that she is battling her cancer diagnosis with more strength and optimism than most of us can muster up on an average day.
Claire relocated three years ago from Tennessee, to Minnesota. Her now husband, Justin Melek, had three previous children, whom she lovingly and without hesitation, took responsibility for as her own. Two years ago Claire and Justin had a 4th child together, and even with both hands full at all times, Claire remains calm, loving, patient, and kind.
On October 31st, 2016, at the age of 34, Claire was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. After further testing it was discovered that the cancer had also spread to her lungs, liver, and lymph nodes and was given stage-IV diagnosis. This is an incredibly rare diagnosis for a female as young as Claire, so the treatment plan is quite aggressive. Claire went through 15 rounds of chemo and then radition. Some of the tumors began to shrink, which is a huge victory but, sadly, the tumors in her liver are back with a vengence. This is Claire's biggest fight of her life. Right now it's all or nothing .
Claire would never EVER ask for help... but I'm here to tell you, they need it! We need to get Claire some medicine from Colorado; the good kind if you know what I mean. Claire is back on an aggresive chemo rounds again, every 2 weeks. While she is a fighter and remaining positive, she could use your help. People always want to help but dont know how. Here it is...Claire needs your prayers and dontations. We need to get her some medicinal oil to help get rid of the cancer and CBD oil to help with all the pains and symptoms that go with the cancer. Unfortunately this is very expensive. Claire should not have to worry that she cant afford to get this medicine to try and save her life.
