Zikka & Claire's 70km in 7 days for EWSCF

We are running 70km (10km a day for 7 days) from the 6th until the 12th of July in aid of the Edith Wilkins Street Children Foundation (EWSCF) based in Darjeeling, India. The Foundation is a non-profit organisation that provides care and protective support to street children, victims of abuse, sex trafficking, child labourers and other at risk youths. Unfortunately, the EWSCF has had to cancel a number of fundraising events recently at a time where they need them the most. The smallest donation will make a huge difference to the lives of these children. 

€1 can feed a child in India for a day
€25 can provide stationery and books for one child for a full school year
€50 can cover the cost of school clothing for a child.  
 
As two KPMG trainee accountants, we planned on heading over in November for 4 weeks on a pro bono basis to use our knowledge and experience gained during our professional training to improve the charity's bookkeeping system and to help the children with their school work.  We were also hoping to introduce hockey to the children as it is one of the biggest sports in India. 

As a result of Covid-19, it may not be possible to visit Darjeeling in November but we would like to continue our fundraising to help the children as much as possible, especially during this tough time.  And hope to get the opportunity to volunteer at the Foundation some time in the future. 

All money raised will go towards school fees, uniforms, sewing kits, musical instruments and Covid-19 necessities.
