Help Stan to walk again

This is Stan. He is an engaging 30 year old and is a treasured friend to everyone he meets, especially his classmates in St Michael’s House (a service for people with intellectual disabilities) and all of his neighbours in North Dublin. Stan lives with his mother who is his sole carer.
Stan was first diagnosed with the rare genetic condition Alpha-mannosidosis when he was three years old. He bravely overcame his numerous childhood surgeries with the devoted support of his mum and despite the severity of his condition his health remained stable thorough his teens and twenties. Unfortunately, in spite of all Stan and his Mum's struggles to lead as normal a life as possible, further trouble struck when Stan fell and broke his leg in 2018. Two operations were performed, one involved pining the bone with a titanium plate but unfortunately the bone cracked once more.
Because of Stan’s rare genetic condition which affects his bone structure, the only option is to is to go the centre that specialises in the treatment of bone problems related to his condition in Tel Aviv, Israel. The doctors in the Assuta Centre in Israel have confirmed that they can perform the surgery in October 2019.
Stan’s life is constrained to a wheelchair now. He has lost his independence and confidence, going from being a fun-loving outgoing person to a young man who rarely gets a chance to leave his house.
Despite all of the help from St Michael’s House (which is greatly appreciated) he is suffering terribly from not being able to walk, which would be hard for anyone, and is particularly distressing for a Special Needs Person.
