Medical Fund / MOM and DAD

My father, David, the most amazing man you could ever know recently suffered a massive debilitating stroke. My mother is not well and is unable to care for him. He is paralyzed and cannot communicate. This is so frustrating for him since he used to be the most outgoing, do anything for anyone, unconditionally loving man, as many of you may know. He is trapped in this body that will not cooperate with him. I, his daughter, do my best to care for them both but with my own medical issues it has become increasingly difficult with each passing day and unfortunately I am limited with my own financial resources. Medical costs and things that the insurance will not cover such as diapers, therapies, home care and certain medicines have drained us. Emotionally, financially and mentally we are all wiped out. I have never been one to ask for help, ever, for anything but figured I would give this a shot. My daddy, my best friend has sacrificed so much for me growing up so that I could have the best opportunities and I just want to be able to return the favor. He deserves the best and I wish that I could give it to him. It would be nice to have a little help with things like bathing, clean-up, errands, and of course not having to worry whether we pay a bill or pick up medicines. Unfortunately, like many Americans, we fall into the "Black Hole" of those who are "too rich or too poor" to qualify for any government assistance. We have drained all of our savings seeing as my father was the bread winner of the family and we struggle everyday. Being a caregiver is very hard work. Watching someone you love suffer and feeling hopeless or helpless is not ever a feeling you want someone you love to experience; someone who deserves so much better. I would do anything for my parents which is why I am here in the first place. I would just like for my mother to be able to catch her breath and for us all to be able to sleep at night. She also needs to focus on her own medical issues without having to worry that if she goes for her own medical tests that my father will not be able to. That is not ever a choice that someone should have to make and I cannot stand the thought that such wonderful people should be stuck in this predicament. I would like to be able to bring someone in to help out and not have to ponder; groceries or medicine? Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and I appreciate any help you can give. Bless your good, open hearts. Most sincerely, The heartbroken yet optimistic daughter.
