Hey there! We are Adrian, Wenwen and Vicky, and we are all third year students at UCL!
It is no secret by now that the N-SARS-COV2 pandemic hit the UK quite harshly. Many areas are affected, and people are losing their lives daily. The main storm is in London, and in the eye of this storm are NHS workers - doctors, nurses and medical staff who expose themselves to danger on the daily, for the simple yet incredibly heroic reason that is saving lives.
However, in order to help us better, NHS workers need to protect themselves. And to protect themselves, they need Personal Protective Equipment. As you probably know, the NHS does not operate for profit - so they rely on the support of people. As students in London, we realize that the NHS’s support plays a vital role in our wellbeing. Now it is our turn to give back.
And this is why we launched Students For NHS - a campaign that aims to raise funds to buy and deliver PPE to NHS institutions all around London. As students, we benefit from the NHS on the daily - and so we feel that it is our duty to try to give back, at least a little bit, in these tumultuous times.
We therefore come and ask you to help us! If you are a student in London and you care for the city that provides you with so many wonderful opportunities, along with its very important medical workers, then you too can make a difference with Students For NHS! Please, donate as much as you can!
As little as 2 GBP can purchase an N95 mask - yes, that is the mask that has a high protection factor against the novel coronavirus! Medical staff wears them every day - and stocks are not infinite!
Finally, you can contribute and help us by sharing our campaign to all your student friends! We study at UCL, but we know that students all around London are just as keen on giving back! The more awareness we have, the more we can raise and the more we can give!
We will initially donate to University College London Hospital, and when we reach the £20,000 goal we set out for UCLH, we will then give to other institutions all around London! No penny will be wasted, no donation will be overlooked!
