Saving an Angel

For the Olson Family. One night Wade and Tammy (who I consider a second mother) came to visit us shortly after Christmas with news that completely broke our family's hearts. We were told that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer in January of 2019. After losing both my Aunt and Uncle to stage 4 cancer I knew right away that this was going to be a fight for her life. I will tell you first hand as several thousands of other families that struggle with cancer will also, that it rips the life out of you. Tammy has 2 children though I would say more like 4. She took care of my brother and I at a very young age. Her oldest daughter was to marry in August of 2019, which Tammy was able to attend. They tried everything in Mayo's arsenal of chemo therapy and one of her treatments worked, Which made her a candidate to undergo surgery in January of 2020. As my father would say Tammy and Wade are "Salt to the Earth" people. They would give the shirt off their back to help you. They are good people and they are very proud,  very authentic and even more honorable individuals. I've heard some people say that "They are an old soul". I can sit here and type everything in the dictionary about Tammy yet words are not enough to describe her as a Wife, a Mother, a Daughter or as a friend in this life. After going through her surgery just recently they stopped by to drop off Christmas presents for my family this year 2019. That shows you the kind of people they are. More giving then taking when really we should all be giving to them through this difficult time. I feel when you are diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, it feels like there is no hope left and we just want to help make sure that they have all the resources readily available to them during this time of hardship. The money will be used for traveling expenses such as flying to and from Arizona from Montana, for lodging, meals and unaccounted bills that insurance will not cover.  As a small community I truly think this goal will be easy for those of you that know Tammy and Wade personally. I hope this story has inspired you to help this family along there journey as they have helped me in life as a son, a brother and a Father. With Love and Honor, a Loved One.
