Freddie Willie Jr, 35 has been battling brain cancer (Anaplastic Astrocytoma; stage 3) since May 2017. He has gone through radiation, many different forms of chemotherapy, 3 brain surgeries and several hospitalizations to date! His most recent visit to MDA did not deliver good news and the family is preparing for a possible 2nd opinion and will travel out of state for continued care. Freddie, his wife and their 3 children along with family and friends are not giving up the fight!
Freddie has not been to work since October (after the swelling of his brain, his 26 day hospital stay and therapy) money has been overwhelming tight. Not to mention an unexpected move on top of things! His job and all his work ppl have been very very understanding and have gone out of their way to donate time to Freddie and help keep him covered by insurance as long as possible! However this time is up. Holly has been back and forth with trying to get Freddie approved disability retirement insurance thru his job so he can keep his health insurance but it has not been approved at this time! There is a lot to applying for any type of disability and the progress that many of you do not know and hopefully you will not ever need to know. This family has been battling this battle for almost 2 years and at this point the financial strain has become almost the undoing of this family!! I
As you all know Freddie and Holly’s last visit to MDA was not a good one and Freddie has been making improvements (Holly had talked to an all natural vitamin specialist and added some new things to his diet; as well as the continued therapy) but with the MRI showing new spots and the swelling of his brain everything has been so unknown! The fear is great but the fight is greater! Holly has been looking into different facilities and is hoping to get approval for a 2nd opinion and to take Freddie to another world renowned cancer treatment facility whom is known as #1 for brain cancer txt (there are a couple however their all out of state)! They have been so happy with MDA but as many of you know the options that were given last month were NOT idea and Holly still is unsure what the right direction to go in! A 2nd opinion is their hope at this point and I know that it would help ease their minds. They will be following up with MDA soon and hopefully Holly can give you more details on the progress later!
To say the least this family is asking for you all to come out and help support, donate, socialize and/or pray for them!
