During the month of November, various groups within Liverpool One Church throw several different types of fund raisers for our City Care initiative. This is to help and support local homeless people, isolated elderly people and other vulnerable people during the Christmas period.
The difference City Care makes each year is quite remarkable. However, our fund raiser is this: on Friday 1st December myself as well as a few others will be sleeping outside in our church courtyard and will brave the cold for an entire night. The sole intention of this is to raise awareness and gain a minor perspective on how difficult life must be for the homeless; particularly through these cold winter months.
Every single penny that we can retrieve will go directly towards our City Care initiative, which this year, is Christmas dinners that shall be prepared and dished out within our Church for the homeless people of Liverpool. Regardless of their past or current circumstances, every person matters. So we are going to give cheerfully in order to feed as many people as we can.
