Cinnamon’s Chemotherapy ❤️

Donation protected

We are raising money to help pay for Cinnamon’s vet bills ❤️

After noticing Cinnamon was losing weight and not eating her food we knew something was wrong. Although she was still as happy as ever we decided to see a Specialist vet on Friday the 26th of June 2020 where she was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma, a cancer that effects the white blood cells.

The oncologist (Specialist in Cancer) then told us that without treatment she has a maximum of 6 weeks, with treatment, and with fingers crossed she could live a happy life for 6-18 months, possibly longer.

Naturally, myself and my partner broke into floods of tears. How could a dog so happy and energetic have only 6 weeks to live?

Cinnamon is a loving, energetic,  care free and fun loving dog who has filled hundreds of peoples hearts with joy over the years. You would be hard pushed to find a more friendly dog, although she is 11 years old everyone that meets Cinnamon mistakes her for a puppy!

Cinnamon has devoted her life to be my support dog, my crutch, my life saver.

Through childhood and my teenage years I struggled greatly with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. I was bullied very badly in school and ended up leaving at the age of14 as I could no longer take it, Cinnamon was my only friend. She was so in tune to me that she would know when I was about to have a panic attack, as soon as I started to hyperventilate she would step in. She would block my arms to stop me hitting my head and would throw herself on top of me to stop me so I could not make myself bleed from scratching myself.

She seemed to know before I did when another episode was about to begin.

If it wasn’t for her unconditional love I honestly could not tell you where I would be right now.

She moved with me from pillar to post the last couple of years as I have tried to find my footing in life. I would not of been brave enough to face the world if it wasn’t for Cinnamon being by my side.

Cinnamon is still very happy and playful, she is not ready to go. She is not suffering or in pain. As soon as she tells us it is time the last thing we would do is prolong her suffering for our greedy and selfish benefit.

However she is tolerating chemotherapy extremely well, she is taking everything in her stride and is on the mend.

As all pet owners are aware vet bills are extortionate, due to her age the insurance will not pay anything for her treatment. Her chemo treatment is quoted for just over £6000 and then consultations and secondary drugs added to this.

Due to the Coronavirus I have been without a job, I also have a severe respiratory problem so have been shielded by the NHS until the 1st of August. Without the treatment, we would only have a short few weeks with her before she would start to suffer, and the last thing we want is for her to be in pain. I have a job in place as soon as the government lets me, I will be working as many hours as humanly possible to give Cinnamon the happy time she deserves.

We have created a bucket list for ‘ Cinnamon’s things to do before she dies’. And would love for her to be around long enough to complete this.

As she has spent most of her life in the Highlands of Scotland we would love to have her healthy enough to visit one more time. Run along the beach, swim in the sea, paddle around in Lochness, get muddy in the Pine Forests among many more of her favourite things.

I understand money is tight for everyone right now, but even a small donation would mean a massive amount to myself and more importantly cinnamon. Every penny will go towards getting the best possible care for Cinnamon while keeping her happy and pain free ❤️ In the future will be holding a sponsored dog walk, online auction and when safe to do so a bake sale ☺️

If Cinnamon has made you smile over the years or her story has touched you in anyway please consider donating ❤️

* If you are moved by Cinnamon’s story but do not have the money to spend on charity now. Please do not feel guilty, due to COVID-19 I understand everyone has taken a hit.  If you could share her story on social mediait would be a massive help.
