CINDY F. WOODS

Our friend and coworker, Cindy, is going through some very stressful medical, financial and personal situations.  She would never ask for anything for herself, so we have set up this account as a way for those of us who love and care for her can help.
Because Cindy's husband, Woody, has developed dementia over this past year, he has lost his job and ability to make sound and safe decisions for himself.  She feels he is not capable of being alone for the duration of her work shifts, but they are now living on the slightly-above minimum wage she earns and there is no viable help available to Woody at this time.
Now during the past couple of weeks, Cindy was admitted to the hospital and found that she has congestive heart failure and will need a pacemaker.  The doctor had requested that she stay admitted until the fluids in her lungs had drained so that surgery could be done, but instead, she made the decision to return to her 40-hour retail job.  The house payment takes all of her wages leaving nothing for food, car payment, utilities or other incidental bills.  This truly appears to be a life or death decision she has before her.
Any amount you can give will help Cindy and is truly needed as soon as possible.  With enough monetary help, she would be able to take care of her very immediate health needs (surgery), keep her house from falling into foreclosure (she would need to be off work for recovery), and give her the time to find a way to assist Woody with his declining mental and physical health.
Many of us who interact with Cindy at the store know and love her exuberant spirit and kindness.  Please give what you can, and soon.
UNFORTUNATELY,  Cindy just found out that the colonoscopy she had a couple weeks ago did not have a good result and the golf-ball sized polyps they removed are cancerous.  She is awaiting an update for further immediate surgery.  If you can't give money during this time, give loving thoughts and prayers for this very caring woman.
JANUARY 8th UPDATE:  
First of all, THANK YOU SO VERY VERY much to those of you who have been able to help Cindy through your donations.  She is absolutely overwhelmed with the out-poring of love and concern from each of you.

Cindy's doctor called Monday night to say there was a surgery opening the next morning and she had a new pacemaker put in yesterday.  She is doing very well and wants everyone of you to know how much she truly appreciates the thoughts and prayers.

I sincerely thank all of you who have helped to relieve some of the financial stress that was added to my other problems.  I have occasionally thought of transferring to a store closer to home, but I would have to leave all my friends from the West Linn area and I could never, ever do that.  Thanks again to each and everyone of my dear friends who have wished me well and kept me in their thoughts.  Bless one and all.
