Cindy needs a lifeline to get pain free.

Thank you for taking the time to read Cindy's story...its a very sad one.

Cindy was an owned dog living in Turkey. At five years old, her owner died and she was turned out onto the streets. She found a place for herself at a Dam construction site where she did her best to survive. By this time Cindy had been pregnant and given birth many times over as she wasn't neutered.

Approximately two years ago she was asleep under a vechicle, when someone got in and drove over her. She was left with devastating injuries and dragged her broken body around the site, with not one person trying to get her help. A local TNR group eventually became aware of Cindy and did thier best to get her help. By this time she had yet another litter of puppies.

October 2024 Cindy was finally taken away from the site, and taken into the care of Help Street Cats and Dogs. She was seen by a vet who diagnosed a dislocated hip, fractures in her pelvis and a crushed paw. It was at this point that I was asked to foster Cindy. Sadly she had to wait 9 long months to come into my care, as I had to rehome another severely injured foster first.

Once she arrived in my care, I could see she was unwell. She weighed only 25kg, was a condition score 2 and had a UTI. Since she arrived, she has had three courses of antibiotics, but they just haven't shifted the infection. Cindy has also been seen by a specialist orthopaedic vet who has diagnosed her with a T7 break in her spine,
on top of all her other injuries. That she is alive is nothing short of a miricle!

Before we even consider putting her through any hip surgery, we need to get this persistent urinary tract infection under control. We need to find the cause and treat it, so that Cindy can then get fit for whatever comes next. Cindy is booked in for imaging of her bladder on 9th October. She may also need a sterile urine sample taken via needle and if required, also a biopsy.

Cindy is a fighter. She should have died two years ago, but she didn't. She has fought to live. She has not only had to bear terrible pain (without veterinary help) but her poor broken body has also given birth to at least two more litters of puppies. Now she needs our help, to beat this bug, get her hip sorted and then find a loving home with a soft sofa and people who will never let her suffer again. She is the sweetest and most trusting soul, who deserves the best, for whatever time she has left.

Please consider donating to this fundraiser. I know times are tough for people, so if you are unable to donate, please share instead. Cindy needs all the help she can get. Thank you ❤️‍
