GO-MED MEDICAL MISSION PHILIPPINES

Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,

It’s that time of the year again for my volunteer work with GO-MED, the non-profit organization which provides life-changing surgeries for the poorest living in third world countries.

As most of you know, I helped GO-MED co-ordinate last year’s Medical Mission in Baguio, Philippines, which was a priceless and very rewarding experience.

Please watch the documentary film that was made during our last mission in January 2014! It has made the Official Selection of the Equality International Film Festival 2014.

I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to help co-ordinate this year’s G0-MED Medical Mission once again. This year’s destination is Dagupan City in Pangasinan.

These volunteer Medical Missions are very costly and require each volunteer to pay their own expenses, as well as take time from their own allotted vacation. This is why I am asking for your support. We will be working 12-14 hour days in often difficult conditions, but the benefit to the numerous patients is immense.

We will be performing General and Gynecological surgical procedures on people in rural areas who could never afford it. There will be almost 30 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, interpreters, logistics and administrative support staff.

The expenses for this 15-day trip include: Medical supplies, medication, airfare, accommodation/lodging, vaccinations, meals and ground transportation between Manila and Dagupan City (the rural area where we will be working).

I am trying to raise $2,500.00 to help cover the cost. You can receive an official Tax Receipt from Go-Med for your contribution. Any amount raised beyond this target will be donated to GO-MED to support future mission trips. I am trying to raise this money by the end of January 2015.

Your generosity and kindness will help improve and even save lives of many of those less fortunate than ourselves. I look forward to sharing the details and pictures of the trip with all of you upon my return!

If you don't feel comfortable donating on this site, you can also donate through GO-MED’s website: www.go-med.ca and click on "Donate Now ".

 Sincerely,

Cindy Moreno

These are some of the many kids and families who come from all over the countryside hoping to have their surgery done.

A typical cleft-lip operation.

Some are very young and even malnourished.

A 3 month old baby that had her cleft-lip surgery done.

A very grateful parent!

We also bring donations of toys and clothes for the kids.
