My name is Yaveth, I’m from a small town called Ciales. Small town yes, but its home too many wonderful people that need our help. This town is known for its agriculture, coffee and cattle as well the loving and giving people. Ciales, population is of 18,782, the town is located on the Central Mountain Range, northwest of Orocovis; south of Florida and Manatí; east of Utuado and Jayuya; and west of Morovis. Ciales is spread over eight wards and Ciales Pueblo (The downtown area and the administrative center of the city).
Back in 1989 before Hurricane Hugo hit PR I was diagnosed with an arteriovenous Malformation in the brain (BAVM). It required treatment that at the time was done in Boston and Pittsburg “Proton Beam Therapy” costing over $19k on out of network deductibles. The entire town of Ciales rallied behind me and my family; helping raise nearly $19,500k for my treatment. Although I have lived out of Puerto Rico for nearly 25 years I owe my life to my fellow Cialeños. That is the reason why my family & I have taken the initiative to feel so compelled to help Ciales and Cialeños alike especially during these very difficult times.
As you all know the entire island of Puerto Rico has been devastated by Hurricane Maria. We have all seen both pictures as well as videos on news outlets, but I can assure you its way worse than what it looks like on TV. My family along with Empire Plumbing Co, Hotel Gaythering have joined efforts in collecting monetary donations.
I know we all have kindness within us, here is our chance to make a change to someone less fortunate than us. We have all suffered or know someone that has suffered from natural disasters, there is no act of kindness ever wasted. If you can’t donate simply share this link with your friends and family.
