Our brother, Chuy, left for work early Saturday morning and never made it. As many of you know he's an extremely dedicated man and a hard worker. From what we understand a truck pulled out in front of him and he was transported to West Valley Abrazo Trauma Center. He has now been in ICU for 5 days, has had 3 surgeries and will have a long recovery. At this time, the extent of his injuries are this: his left arm is broken above his elbow, which he had 2 plates put in on Tuesday. Unfortunately, his left eye has taken the brunt of his injuries with multiple orbital and nasal fractures, on Saturday he had surgery to put his eye back into place and yesterday he had plastic surgery to place some hardware that will allow either his eye to stay in place or for a glass eye to be fitted. At this time we do not know if he will have vision or will even be able to keep his eye. To answer any question, he was wearing a brand new Biltwell Lane Splitter helmet, we have no idea how the trauma happened to his eye but as you can see with the picture attached something hit the right side and possibly pushed the visor up, causing extreme trauma to his face. As of today he has been heavily sedated and intubated, with no response. They will slowly start weaning him off of sedation and we are hoping home within the week or so. Any help with bills, he is also CDL truck driver so we concerned of the ability of generating future income and any other future needs during his recovery would be greatly appreciated.
