Anyone who knows Bri and Tony knows how deeply they love their sweet boy, Chunk. He’s not just their dog, he’s their baby, their best friend, their entire world.

This week has been every pet parent’s worst fear. Just Sunday, Chunk was his happily splashing in the pool and playing with his doggie friends. By Monday, everything changed. He became frighteningly ill. Bri was enjoying some much deserved time away with her Mom when Tony had to rush him to the emergency vet. By early Tuesday morning, Chunk was fighting for his life.

They found fluid in his lungs, suspected sepsis, and multiple intestinal blockages. They told Bri and Tony it was the worst case of HGE they’d ever seen. At one point, they weren’t even sure he’d make it through the night.

Thankfully, there’s a little more hope now. His liver counts are improving and the ultrasound shows only inflammation. He’s still on fluids and medications. He hasn’t started eating on his own yet, but the goal is to get him home by Sunday

The care he’s receiving at Blue Pearl has been nothing short of life-saving but as you can imagine, around the clock care comes at an enormous cost.
