<div>In 2021, Chuck was diagnosed with nonalcoholic liver cirrhosis. What began as a frightening diagnosis has continued to progress despite treatment, and he is now officially listed for a liver transplant. This is a road no one ever wants to walk, but Chuck has faced it with strength, faith, and quiet courage.

<div>As he waits for “the call” that will change everything, which we have learned can come much faster than we could dream, Chuck is navigating frequent medical appointments, hospital stays, and the emotional toll that comes with living in uncertainty. When the transplant happens, he will be required to be off work for at least 2–3 months to recover and heal.

<div>We are raising funds to help cover Chuck’s medical and living expenses during this time, including basic needs while he is unable to work. The funds will also help offset the costs for friends and family members who will take time off from their own jobs to be present and care for him before and after transplant. No one should walk through this season alone, and Chuck is surrounded by people who are ready to show up for him—just as he has shown up for so many others.

<div>Chuck is a licensed clinical social worker with Gentiva Hospice. Every day, he devotes his life to walking alongside patients and families during the most difficult moments they will ever face—offering comfort, dignity, humor, and hope when it’s needed most. He has spent his career caring for others without hesitation. Now, it’s our turn to care for him.

<div>Day 41 is coming. Forty days is the season of testing, the waiting, the stretching of faith until it feels thin and tired. Jesus was tempted for forty days in the wilderness, and it wasn’t on day one that the victory came — it was after the forty, when He stood firm and overcame. It rained for forty days, and the flood felt endless, but on day forty-one the rain stopped and the promise of dry ground began. Forty is the trial; forty-one is the turning point. If you’re in the middle of your forty, don’t quit — breakthrough doesn’t announce itself early. Day 41 is where endurance turns into victory, where survival turns into testimony.
