Hi my name is Dee Kinder and I am hoping to make my dying brother’s last wish come true.

My brother, Chuck Lane, is 65 years old and has been battling illnesses for most of his life. Chuck has had severe asthma since childhood which lead to COPD in adulthood. He developed kidney cancer 10 years ago which led to having a kidney removed and complete remission. 8 years ago he was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. 4 years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia which we have been treating as best as possible. 2 years ago he was then diagnosed with prostate cancer. 10 months ago his wife of 15 years, his caregiver, left him. They were living in Illinois so I packed him up and helped him relocate to South Carolina to live with our brother and his wife, Scott and Leslie. They have been overseeing his daily care as I work on the road and stop in from time to time. 3 weeks ago we received the devastating news that his kidney cancer had returned at stage 4 with metastasis to the pancreas, liver, lungs, and lymph nodes. Chuck decided palliative care was the right choice for him and the doctors have said he will likely have 3 months of “good” time left.

We are trying to make the most of the time we have left with him so I asked him if there was one thing he could do that he’s never done before, what would that be. After some thinking he decided he wants to go to Disney world and Universal Studios. With his Parkinson’s he can’t walk the park or control a motor scooter so my daughter and her boyfriend will be accompanying us to push him in a wheelchair, as I have my own health issues and can’t do it myself for long. All money raised will help fund his bucket list trip that we are hoping to take in just a few short weeks while he still can.
