Chuck Gray and Family - Stroke

Donation protected
My friend Chuck Gray is currently at Vancouver General Hospital for urgent stroke treatment. He currently can't talk or walk on his own. As Chuck is the income earner in his family of five, the coming months will be financially challenging. This fundraiser will cover about 1 month worth of urgent bills including their mortgage, cell phone, and groceries.I’d like you to understand my friend Chuck Gray. He is 37 years old. He is healthy, active, and fit. He’s a husband and loving, active father. He worked as a faller, until this series of events. He loves to hike, cycle, hunt, fish, and explore. He has always been a passionate, energetic person with a joie de vivre and a great wit and sense of humour to match. He’s one of those people who makes others feel better about themselves when he's around.

Chuck was in emergency a total of 4 times in Hazelton due to likely TIAs and strokes before he was referred to Terrace. I was with him on Sunday Aug 6th when he had a serious stroke. He wasn't disagnosed with stroke until Terrace. It took over 27 hours from his stroke on Aug 6th in Hazelton until he started to receive treatment on Aug 7th in Terrace. A CT scan showed he's had at least two strokes, and the MRI showed more damage than expected. Chuck was transferred by air to Vancouver General this morning. If you would like to read my letter of concern about how Chuck was handled, you can click here

100% of your donation will go directly to Chuck and his wife Tanya and their children. It will help with their urgent medical and living expenses. If you cannot help financially but would like to assist, we need advocates and support for his family. In-kind contributions also welcome.

PLEASE educate yourself to the signs of stroke . You could save a life.
We don't yet have a prognosis. He could be unable to work for months, years, or longer. We don't know at this point. He has had more tests in Vancouver. He is very strong and we're hopeful.
Thank you very much for your compassion, caring, and generosity. We will keep you updated.
