A call for alumni, administration and students of Carlsbad High School alike to utilize their privilege and capital to combat racial injustice and inequality in America .
The acts of brutal racism and senseless killings of Black people in this country will no longer pass by without action. The murder of George Floyd , as most of you may know, has sparked protest and political unrest all around the nation. But frankly, the justice the black community is demanding is far overdue. The outrage which Mr. Floyd’s murder sparked is symptomatic of hundreds of years of racism and prejudice in America. The time for change is now.
As Lancers, most of us benefit from the privilege of hearing and learning about racial injustice rather than experiencing it first-hand. Understanding that you will never understand is the first step in acknowledging this privilege. However, to pledge yourself and our community in allyship, we all must make progressive steps through monetary donations, demonstration, self-education, holding our representatives accountable and more. We have included a website that lists some resources to help begin to take action.

Furthermore, 100% of donations raised here will be split equally among three organizations, those being:
- ALCU San Diego
-San Diego Community Fund
-Campaign Zero
