Christy Sands' Final Expenses

Donation protected
My mom's cousin, Christy, passed away unexpectedly on February 5. She was a lifelong native of the Rockford IL area and an avid supporter of the Midwest B.R.E.W. beagle rescue, often fostering 2-3 dogs at any given time. Any donations to help with her final expenses are much appreciated.

Christina "Christy" Sands, 58, of Rockford, passed away on February 5, 2018. She was born on December 6, 1959 in Rockford, the daughter of John and Lucy (Abramson) Sands.
Christy graduated from East High in 1977 and studied at Rock Valley College. She enjoyed working with computers and most recently worked in customer service in Servicom. Christy enjoyed sewing, and arts & crafts; however, she especially enjoyed cooking and baking - her Pepparkakor cookies were legendary. She was a Cubs fan mainly because her brother was a Reds fan and she enjoyed the rivaly. The events of 9/11 touched her heart and gave rise to a heightened sense of patriotism and political awareness.
Christy's true love was her cats and dogs. She was an active volunteer with Midwest B.R.E.W., a beagle rescue organization that found homes and educated families for these loving animals and she was proud to be a foster parent for many special needs dogs.
Survivors include her brother, John; nieces and nephew, Katherine, Jonathan, and Jazmin; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
