Christy Powers & Family

Donation protected

My dear friend Christy Powers (and her 6-year-old son) was walking with our friends, Lauren and Ruthie Ann , when a reckless driver ran a red light in Brooklyn, striking four people -- injuring Ruthie and killing two precious children.*

Christy was just two steps ahead of them and turned to say goodbye to them just as the horrific happened. If she'd been two steps behind, she'd have been hit too. While her son looked on during the aftermath, Christy ran to be with Lauren Lew and was by her side as everything else happened.

We are grateful that Christy and her son were not physically injured in this event, but they have suffered a truly traumatizing experince, and are in need of trauma health care. Christy's husband has been home from work yesterday, today, and will likely be for the rest of the week (at least). There will also be other needs for mental health, including counselling for Christy and her son.

Please help them work toward healing from this emotional trauma by supporting these expenses.
Contributions will go directly to the Powers family.

Feel free to share this with others that you think may want to help.

With thanks.

* The accident occured in Park Slope, Brooklyn on Monday, March 5, 2018.
