Christopher belongs with his mother
Friends, family, complete strangers.. please come together when my family needs it most. As most of you are already aware, the father of my eldest, Christopher, passed away on May 30th. He left behind my son who is 6. His father and I had joint legal custody, his father having sole physical custody due to at the time I was preparing to leave for a while to serve my country through the United States Army. This was a mutual agreement. 4 years have passed, and his father and I kept to our agreement. I've had my son regularly up until now. He doesn't understand why his daddy isnt here but he needs me the most right. As the funeral proceedings were happening, I spoke with my sons father's grandparents and I agreed to allow their grandson to stay with them from Friday-Monday as Christopher had a very important part in the funeral and visitation. His grandparents needed him so bad. I felt like it was best at the time to allow Christopher to stay for both of their benefits. I put my feelings aside and allowed this to happen. I went and visited with him everyday.
Today is Tuesday, the day I was suppose to go get my son to take him home. As I approached their door, I was informed I was not allowed to take him and they wouldn't release him to me. I called the Sheriff's office to help me escort my son to me, and was informed that at of today (6/6/2017) his grandparents filed with the court house to obtain custody. I was so blindsided. How can my son not be allowed to come home with me? They surely don't want to put Christopher through this? Because they lost their son, why do they need to take mine? I am really giving my self a swift kick in the butt right now. Anyone who knows me knows how great of a mother I am, and have sacrificed so much to always provide for my family. Friends, family, strangers, I am begging you on my knees. PLEASE help me raise enough money to obtain a decent lawyer. I'm already selling off all items of high value (tvs, jewelry, appliances) but I know it will not be enough. I need to raise enough money to ensure that I will be able to have my son back. All proceedings will go directly towards the cost of this court battle. Anything remaining will be used to provide for Christopher.
