Toy and Shoe Drive for Kids of Farmworkers

As the harvest season ends for many farm workers, the winter and holiday season is spent on survival mode, living off any savings or taking out a loan to make it through the winter. Farm workers are the lowest paid labor force making it really hard to have any savings. Many times farm workers can not afford Christmas gifts for their kids, or go into debt doing so, even if it’s basic gifts like shoes and new shirts. As Christmas time approaches we find ourselves thinking about the children of farm workers who watch their parents go to work during record breaking heatwaves and cold rainy days. Farm workers children are aware of the inequalities their parents endure, from pesticide exposure to back breaking work just to put food on the table after paying rent and bills. Farm workers children are the reason our essential farm workers show up every day to feed the nation. This year we want to help them enjoy a Christmas by providing children of farm workers with Christmas joy.

This year has been the most challenging for them yet, with inflation prices, and no raise in their pay. The farm worker community is hurting, for most farm worker families there won't be gifts for their children this year, but YOU CAN CHANGE THAT. We can help.
