Christmas Rucksack Appeal Wrexham and Chester

We aim to provide essential items to people in need of support this winter in the Wrexham and Chester areas in the form of warm clothes, sanitary products and thoughtful gifts to make their winter more bearable.
Over 300,000 people are homeless in the UK. Millions of women, men and child refugees are displaced across Europe after fleeing from war, conflict and persecution in their home countries. Charities and organisations work tirelessly all year round to provide essential aid and services to help people get off the streets, or to fight for those being deprived of their basic human rights around the world.
This drive has been set up for winter 2020. Our goal is to encourage the local community to get involved with providing rucksacks filled with warm clothes, essential sanitary items and small gifts to help make someone’s winter more bearable this year. Donating new or used items can make a huge difference in helping someone to stay warm on the streets throughout winter, and bring a smile to the face of a friend who is less fortunate than ourselves.
2020 has been an incredibly tough year for everyone. Most of us are still fortunate enough to have a roof over our heads and food on our tables. We have learnt that we never know when our circumstances could unexpectedly change, and that nothing should be taken for granted.
We’ve seen so much community spirit in this year drawn out by the difficult circumstances caused by the Coronavirus. Due to the virus, charities that tirelessly work to help people get back on their feet have suffered due to financial and practical problems, and the people that are facing winter on the streets this year are facing it against the virus too.
With all the negative change this year has brought, lets finish 2020 on a positive note by doing some good and making a real difference to the lives of people less fortunate than ourselves.
Christmas is the time for community and giving back, counting our blessings and reaching out to the people around us.
Get into the Christmas spirit by joining our cause and create a gift for someone which will make a huge difference to their lives!
Donations made to this page will be distributed to the organisations we partner with to contribute to community Christmas dinners for the homeless. We are partnered with Share in Chester (registered charity 1166530) and Yellow and Blue/No22 cafe in Wrexham. These organisations may use any additional funds to contribute to their ongoing work in supporting families in crisis and people who are homeless in North Wales and Cheshire, and refugees fleeing for their lives, wherever they are in the world.
