Christmas in July 2018 (Sp. Needs)

July 2018 will mark our 6th Annual Christmas in July Party for our Joy Center VIPs.   Each year in July, we have a party to honor our students, who we call VIPs, who attend Joy Center, a day program for special needs' individuals.   

Our first party began in 2013 with a basket for each VIP that included mainly donated items from businesses and a few select purchased items bought from money raised at yard sales and other fund raisers.   Because our number was small at the time, it was easier to manage, and we were able to have the party at my home. 

As our numbers increased, we needed to rent a venue to accomodate all VIPs, wheelchairs and other special medical necessities, as well as caregivers for many of our VIPs.  We began a gofundme page to help with costs, and we were blown away with the support of our special guys and dolls.  

My goal for the past few years has been to raise enough funds to purchase $100 in gifts for each VIP plus $500 extra to go toward food, games,  and venue rental(if not donated) We currently have 25 VIPs. Even with this goal of $3,000, there are still a lot of our of pocket expenses.  Any funds raised beyond the goal will go toward other expenses of the party, a group gift for our center for all VIPs to enjoy, or toward next year's party.

Your support means everything to  me.  Making these kids happy and giving them a day they look forward to without worry of judgement, stares, rude comments, etcs. is my goal.   With so many health  and mobilitiy issues so many of our students endure daily, I am honored to be a small part in making this day a reality once again.  We cannot do it without your help.

In order to get all gifts and items for the party purchased in plenty of time, I would like to reach this goal by June 1,2017.
