CHRISTMAS FOR FOSTER CARE GIRLS

Donation protected
Hello,

Most of you who have made it here to this page know me. For those of you who have stumbled upon it or maybe even saw it on a friends Facebook page, My name is Jess, This year has been so hard in general for  everyone, COVID has truly taken over the lives of everyone. This year has been especially hard for my family on a personal level. In order to explain how I have been so blessed to meet five teenage foster care girls, I have to share what has been happening in my life with my teenage Daughter Rauree.  In February 2020, Our whole world turned upside down when Rauree started having some serious mental health concerns. After months of suicide attempts, cutting, purging, and the list goes on, she had been hospitalized a total of nine times. At that point, something had to give because she was not getting better or getting the help that she desperately needed. Help the hospitals, myself, or any amount of outpatient could not give to her. At that point I had to make one of the hardest decision of my life, we decided that what she needed was a voluntary treatment program. Rauree has been there for 5 months now and she is slowly but surely getting better.

While she has been there I have met five young ladies who have had similar struggles like Rauree. Due to confidentiality I do not know first hand and that is perfectly fine.  What I do know is these young ladies are in the foster car system, some of them come from homes where parents just cannot care for them. Some have not ever had their parents in their lives from day one. unfortunately some of them come from a place of a traumatic home life. Many of the girls have been there for longer than the 6 month program. One of them has even been there for nearly two years. From what I have been told these girls have no family to go home to and will eventually age out of the system. The mental health struggles these girls go through is what keeps them from getting adopted. When I heard that, It broke my heart, I am very aware that there are many more children like these girls who will also age out. To be completely transparent, It breaks my heart all around. However I have been in close contact with these particular children when I get to visit my Daughter. They are remarkable young ladies who really just need to be loved on. This bring me to the entire point of this gofundme.

It has been on my heart for about a month now to give these girls a Christmas. Nothing extravagant but things that are personalized to them. I know for a fact they have a lot of people at the home that care about them and their well being. I want to be clear that my sole purpose behind asking for help is because I can't do it alone.  My empathetic heart would take them all home if i had the money or resources but we all know that would be impossible.  With your help, what we can do is give them each a few gifts and hope that it is something they will remember for a lifetime.  What we can do is make them feel loved and cared for. My hope is that it will spark Joy in them and let them see that they are worthy of being loved on by people who share a caring heart like mine. My heart has been caught up in this cause and if you feel the same, please give what you can. I am hoping to be able to do this by Christmas day. Thank you all who have made it through this entirely long story. I am grateful to you and May you be blessed beyond measure.

Sincerely,
