Christmas Cheer for Luke Hartmann

Donation protected
On October 19th, 2017 Luke Hartmann was rushed by ambulance to the Grafton hospital. He was found with very shallow breathing, and they had to shock his heart when the paramedics arrived. That same day he was put into an emergency surgury. This would be the first of many surgeries. We found out that Luke had picked up a very rare flesh eating bacteria called Necrotizing Fasciitis. This bacteria had attacked his body, entered into his blood stream and he became septic, and was in a toxic shock. He was transferred to St. Luke's ICU in Milwaukee because they had the best technology to save his life. Since then he has endured hyperbaric oxygen treatments, blood transfusions, mini- vascular strokes, seizure-like activity, anxiety, surgeries, and too many other things to possibly all list here. His recovery will span for months if not years where he will need more surgeries, including plastic surgery, physical therapy and emotional support. There are many unknowns so we are taking day by day, hour by hour, and staying positive.

This last Friday there was a breakthrough! Luke was scheduled for a traceostomy surgury because they needed to get his breathing tube out for fear of pneumonia setting in. Luke woke up and started breathing so well they cancelled the procedure! He is now even speaking and the sassy Luke has not changed a bit!! God is so good! There have been so many prayers sent up on behalf of his healing and we are confident that this is what has been keeping him fighting and comforting him. Luke has a very special angel that has been by his side!

Our wish this Christmas for Luke is for him to focus on his recovery and not have to worry financially for the many related costs that he is enduring for this very unfortunate event.
If you can help in any small way it would be very appreciated.
