Christmas Cheer for Family

For those of you who know what I do for work as a Clinical Social worker, you are aware that I am in many homes throughout the lowcountry area. If I started a GoFund me for all of the families that I serve, you would all be sick of hearing from me and ignore my pleas. So, please know that this is a special family that sticks out in my mind and could use our help...
The two young children are kind, well behaved, honest, appreciative and happy. The great-grandfather (yes, GREAT-Grandfather) who was given custody of them is hardworking, humble and has as much energy as people half his age. However, the family resides in an area that requires payment for trash pick up and the home has become "cluttered" due to parents who engaged in illegal activities and have since been removed from the home indefinitely. Some community members and I have come up with the idea to have a large trash receptacle delivered to the home and assist the family with clean up so that the children could each have their own bedroom with their own belongings.
In order to do this, we would need to rent a large dumpster and have several volunteers who are not afraid of getting a little dirty and preferably with some brawn. The family is aware of this offer and is excited at the thought of getting their home back. We were given an estimate of $500 for the rental and if there are additional funds, we would like to purchase new bed sheets and comforter sets for the family, a Christmas tree and some Christmas gifts. Please take a look in your children's rooms tonight and observe what you see. This is what we are hoping to create for two children who deserve even more than this and who have already been through so much. A safe, warm place to call home.
