Journey with appendix cancer

Donation protected
Unfortunately, cancer has come back into my live for the second time.  This time, it's attacked my appendix.  I'm at Stage 4 and must undergo a life-saving operation.  I've found a specialist in Baltimore, Dr. Arnando Sardi, at the Mercy Medical Center.  Since appendix cancer is so rare (less than 1000 cases diagnosed in the US per year), there are very few specialists for this kind of surgery.  Dr. Sardi is the one I've chosen to entrust my life with.

The surgery is grueling.  Deemed the MOAS (Mother of All Surgeries) by patients, it's 10-12 hours on the table followed by 7-10 days in the hospital.  Dr. Sardi is requiring me to remain in Baltimore a week after discharge for observation and post-op care.

Those of you who know me know how difficult it is for me to ask for help.  I'm hoping friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances and friends I've yet to meet are willing to assist me.  While in Baltimore, I'll have to cover lodging, food, transportation, flights for me and for the kids to visit, co-pays, and possibly a nurse or aid.  As much as everyone loves to cook and offer food (which I am truly grateful for), I am going to be on juices and smoothies for quite some time after surgery as my intestines "wake up" and start functioning again.

I truly, truly appreciate any help your heart is willing to give.  And I thank you from the bottom of mine.

Blessings,
Christine
