It’s that time of the year again! For the 2nd time, I'm honored to lace up and run the 2018 Boston Marathon alongside the Boston Fire Department. This year, I will be hitting the pavement to support the Boston Firefighters Children’s Fund.
In 2006 Flt. Robert Kilduff formed the Children’s Fund to aid Boston area children feeling the pain of losing all their belongings because of fire during the holiday season. Within days, the fund provides checks to the affected families and helps replace articles that were destroyed in the fire. Since its inception, the fund also helps neighborhood little leagues, church groups, playgrounds and many other groups that provide for the children of Boston.
I am so lucky to have grown up within the amazing Boston Fire family. My late father, Captain John F. Kenney served the Boston Fire Department for over 25 years. Like last time I ran the Boston Marathon, I know that when the course gets tough he will be right there with me. With your support, the firefighters of Boston will be able to touch lives of child survivors when their road gets tough.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated to support my goal of raising over $3,000 for this tremendous cause.
