India volunteer trip

I will go to Amar Seva Sangam in Tamil Nadu province in Southern India for the month of February. My purpose is to volunteer at this grassroots organization dedicated to the empowerment of people with disabilities. I am going to supervise Canadian O.T. students from McGill and Dalhousie Universities. The connection between Amar Seva and Canada's Handi Care International provides experiences for Canadians and Indian therapists to grow and to share knowledge through collaboration in aid of clients with disabilities. Both organizations are not-for profit. Together with my eleven year old son, I will be able contribute through volunteering and we will experience life in an amazing culture and country. 

My GoFundMe page will help defray my personal costs of travel (airfare, accommodation, immunizations, visas, time away from work) and assist in the various ways I can contribute to the facility  at Amar Seva (e.g. donate wheelchairs from Canada no longer used in a facility here in Ottawa, share music resources to provide leisure passtime for the residents). 

Funding received now will help me move forward with my airline ticket purchase. I can book the flights, cover travel expenses, and with my itinerary set, I will spend more time on the volunteer project itself. 

I am raising additional funds by hosting a concert in Ottawa on Sunday October 28th , 6 to 8 p.m. at Meow! That's Hot  Attendees will share great food, a concert (with s/g Jennifer Noxon), networking for folks from my varied community endeavours, and can help out fundraising for this trip.
