Christine and Jacks Recovery fund

The first week of June, Jack went to the ER for chest pains. It turned out he had pneumonia. They admitted him and began to treat it.
That night, while in his room with him, Christine spiked a high fever with chills and vomiting and they went and admitted her as well. They found that she had pneumonia too, and began treating that, but in the course of checking that out, they found some other infections that they couldn't explain and began to investigate.

After two solid weeks in the hospital, they came up with Sepsis and Bacteremia, which means they found a few different bacteria in her blood and the source appears to be an infected leaky heart valve.

They have her on a constant 24/7 drip of two different super-powerful IV antibiotics for the next six weeks. These meds exhaust her and leave her with little energy to do anything else. After the six weeks is up, doctors will decide how to proceed with the leaky valve.

Jack is still recovering from his bout of pneumonia. During the course of his time in the hospital, doctors became concerned about an abcess they found in his colon and once that infection is cleared up, they will consider whether or not they need to remove a section of his colon and whether or not they need to remove any section of his lung that may have been damaged by the pneumonia.

All of this has taken a tremendous toll on them, emotionally, physically and financially.

These are two people who have always done their best to give of themselves, to do for others. Right around the time they both took ill, they had opened their home to family who needed a place to live.

Now, not only are they both unable to work for at least the rest of this year, but they may need to find a new place to live as well.

They have living expenses, medical expenses and the possible added expense of having to move while undergoing treatment.

Although they had a small savings, they have seen that savings vanish rapidly over this last month. We are only asking for enough to help cover their expenses for the rest of this year.

Please, if you can help in any way, however large or small, or if you can share this to as many people as you can and get the word out, we can help these good people get through this tremendously difficult time, to give them a little peace of mind so they can concentrate on healing and get back to the business of helping others.
