Leaves .39 left in the account. It will be closed soon. Von said just donate that to the Church :) .

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After today this will leave $2544.73.  The roofing materials "all in" will be $2000. The driveway prep will be free and gravel will be $450 budgeted for a 10 wheel truck load. Neighbors have stated they will chip in for some of the gravel. So that $$ is to be determined.

This leaves $94.73 for anything that is left.

UPDATE 11/16/18 $240  to Wilbanks Construction for flooring in laundry room, osb bathroom and laminate flooring to both.

Also to update. Harland check order processed (to write checks on). $61.74.

UPDATE 11/9/18 - $240 to Wilbanks Construction for kitchen flooring install. Walls in laundry room .

UPDATE 11/7/18 $550 for new Fridge and Stove. This went to Appliance Liquidators in Southaven MS.  Another generous friend paid out of pocket for the remainder of that bill and the delivery fees.

UPDATE 11/6/18  $365 was paid to contractor Wilbanks Construction for labor on tear out for kitchen, moisture barrier and laminate flooring.  Replacing electrical breakers and outlets that were glowing red hot. Video posted of more progress and a outlets that were causing a fire hazard.

Here is a link to the current video

UPDATE: 10/24/18 - $142.73 paid to contractor for materials today.  We will be doing a video of progress so far and posted by the end of the week.
-Goal - we are attempting to get the South end of the roof repaired between now and the weekend.

The back yard has been cleared and a dumpster hauled off again.
The interior has had some painting done as well.

UPDATE: 10/12/18  $1,744.20  ($1800 before the gofundme fees)

Has been set up to be withdrawn.
$600 in total Cash donations (seen below) have already been deposited for Von outside of GoFundMe.  No fees associated with that amount.
$1800 will be set aside as the match and will not be run through this website so that we do not lose any of it for fees. We want 100% of it to go for Von.

Total to date.  $4144.20 went into the Regions Account. (Includes the $2000 match)

UPDATE: 10/5/18 the  TEN $200 donations were hit!

$200 Cash today.
$180 yesterday and a mix up on the same person's account for $18 went somewhere. We do not know yet but we know they intended $200 as of now.  So that completes the "match" goal.

Still more work to do folks!

UPDATE 10/4/18 Donation break down

Two individuals gave Von
$200 Cash
$200 Cash

Outside of my donation there have been six online $200 donations.

We need to get two more $200 donations to hit the $2000 match. Almost there folks!  To raise awareness we began the campaign with a $200 donation (of the $2000 match) in hopes of getting at least 10 others inspired to do $200 each. Once we reach that goal another $1800 (of the $2000) will come as a match.

TIMELINE: Right now the roof repairs will be done at some point after the 16th. The one doing the roofing is in Mexico currently doing mission work and returning on that date.

The bathroom remodel / construction is being determined now.
The kitchen floor repairs are being assessed and solutions being worked out.

Folks, this home needs a lot of work. It's looking like about half of the home (two ends) may need to be closed off until repairs can be made while Von concentrates on the center of the house. - Kitchen, bedroom  and bathroom area. The funds we know of right now will hopefully get most of this center section livable.

We will be listing expenses so you can be assured your donations are used correctly.

Thanks for your time! Stay Tuned!

UPDATE: 9/30/18

Thanks to those that have helped so far!! As of today we are at $1820 (some cash donations have been outside of this website).

We want to clear up some points and concerns here. 100% of the funds have been offered with zero exchange of any sort of goods or services. There will be no “bake sales” or “fun runs” or other fund raising activities.  While Von might liquidate some of her assets to help with her efforts, any notifications through this page is purely to help her with raising awareness.

Another point, this activity is –not-  the Ashland Church of Christ raising money through GoFundMe. While members of the Ashland Church of Christ may offer assistance, it does NOT own or operate this website in any way.

This gofundme page is simply a community effort to help Von Hall.  The problem?  How do you get to the funds? A bank account has to be established by someone so they can be used in this effort. The entity or individual needs to be tax exempt and provide a tax id. Until another solution presents itself, the Ashland Church of Christ has offered to set up a bank account so the funds can be exported from GoFundMe into it. Also, any other funds given to help Von can be deposited there.

The funds will used for construction and repair costs of the home only.

So that being said, either the bank account is created, or they will be refunded to the individuals who donated. While I set this up, I will NOT allow any of the funds to be deposited to any account I’m in sole control of. The news and media is full of abuse and scams. If you have any doubts or concerns, I ask… basically beg,,, you to offer a solution rather than point out all the negatives.

Friends and family, while Von is in need of help, please remember the stress and headaches to manage this effort is not a light burden. I myself have a 100% disabled child with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. We are very blessed and do not have any needs. But I do need help and ideas on how to manage this for Von. I do not need critics or naysayers. We need solutions… Please,,, be a part of the solution if you can… and please do not be a part of the problem.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                NOW TO THE MAIN CAUSE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Von Hall is renting a home in the community and has bought this abandoned home in July for $2500. She paid all the fines, fees, back taxes, HOA dues, old utility bills, water, etc... to get the home back in good standing. She is disabled and works 10-15 hours a week and found a home cheap enough for her to get into.

On 9/16 the home was broken into and robbed of any items of value. It was bought as is, where is. The owners were given almost 2 months to get any items and they stopped communicating with Von on August 7th.

At this time, at least 3 dumpster loads have been hauled off and there is enough debris left over to fill at least three 18 wheelers… see the video. Assessment of work is being done currently.

On 9/28, Von and I met with a local contractor. Friends… It’s NOT pretty… There is a LOT of mold and mildew to deal with. The home really needs taken to the studs to get to the source of the mold. Then reinsulated, covered, etc.. The roof is partially repaired on one end but still needs a lot of work. We need HELP and IDEAS!!!  We are almost spirit broken here. The home is borderline disaster and if it doesn’t receive the right set of skills and funds to restore, the reality is,, all hope could be lost and Von would have to continue renting and trying to make ends meet on disability.

Again, I want to stress this is a Community, family and friends effort. If you have any ideas on how to export the funds into a tax exempt (IRS) entity then please feel free to reach out to me. For many reasons, I will not allow any funds to pass through myself.  For now, the Ashland Church of Christ will create an account to hold them so construction can begin.

While we are optimistic… and we have faith…  we want to keep you informed on status. Who would have thought that managing the funds would be the first obstacle….

Right now, early estimates is it will take about $20,000 at a minimum. We think $40,000 would be a more realistic figure that will probably have to be spent here.

Let's do this Y'all!  Please remember… We need help with SOLUTIONS… We know the PROBLEMS…. Von doesn’t just need money… she needs solutions.

UPDATE: Iron Crafters of Ashland will be providing Security Doors.
Ashland Church of Christ preacher will provide the labor for a new roof.
Others are donating cash, household items, furniture, etc...

9/25 - STORAGE NEEDED. Furniture and household items are being donated.
Storage for staging of building materials to prevent water damage during         construction

9/25 - WREG news onsite to cover the story. - News at 6pm
More updates coming soon!

9/26 - UPDATE: The Ashland Church of Christ will be setting up a separate account to maintain the donations.   Zero funds will be passed through any individual or the church. What this means is it will use the same tax ID # for non profit.  We will be listing transaction details with complete transparency.
