Christchurch Soup Kitchen
We have a dedicated team of 20 volunteers who serve between the hours of 6-7pm five evenings week.
As well as providing hot nutritious meals we offer clothing, hygiene essentials, a laundry service and a wash and swap service for sleeping bags. We also help, support and signpost to other agencies and organisations for continued support in specific areas of need.
Although we are a 'Soup Kitchen' we don't just serve the rough sleepers within our community but other vulnerable residents in and around the Christchurch area, who for one reason or another are 'in great need'.
While we appreciate the importance of a human beings 'basic needs', we also endeavour to meet the deeper need which exists within all of us. The deep, innate need for significance, acceptance, belonging, purpose and connection, which is the most profound part of our amazing work; which we know we are achieving as our service users regularly tell us how much they 'value the social aspect of soupy' one of which is an 85 year old gentleman.
So even if you could donate a little, its a lot to some
