Chris’s injury recovery fund

Donation protected
My longtime friend Chris and I collided on a blind corner on Red Mountain ski hill around a week ago. After a bit of time gently removing his board from his feet we realized that he had a serious knee injury.
With help from the friendly staff at Red Mountain we got him onto a stretcher and down the hill to the hospital. After a few hours in emergency and some X-rays later, the staff realized that he had a lateral fracture of his tibia, which had caused a portion of his tibia to come out of the socket. Suffice it to say that this is a serious knee injury and so he was prepped and sent into surgery that evening. They put the bone back in place and secured it with a plate and several bolts.
Upon visiting Chris and consulting with hospital staff the next morning it became readily apparent that he would be unable to walk for as long as 6 weeks and would be taking it VERY easy for up to 9 months. Which brings me to the point of this gofundme.
Chris is a hard worker and a dedicated father. He normally spends his summers planting trees in Alberta to support himself and his 12 year old son Orion. Obviously that won’t be happening this year. So all donations will go directly to Chris to cover his living costs, rent, bills, and food for him and Orion.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Not only will it assuage some of the guilt I harbour for colliding with him but more importantly it’ll help him and his son get through this crappy unexpected event just a little bit more comfortably.
Thanks a bunch!
