Hi Friends and Family! I am sure you have heard by now that my dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic/liver cancer. The prognosis is not good. It’s about six months without chemo and four to fifteen more with chemo. My dad and mom have been in the fight against this illness for the past couple months or so, but finally after getting the final diagnosis some of the pressure is off. So now the fight has begun to make my dad as healthy and happy as possible.
This is a tough time for the Powell family and now that my dad has officially stopped working so he can focus on his health, things are a bit tight financially especially because of all of the medical expenses (there is a considerable amount of integrative medicine that is not covered by insurance that is helping a lot).
My mom is still working but it’s difficult because my dad needs a lot of care and comfort at home.
My mom and dad have been upstanding members of the community in Benicia and the bay area community at large. They have done what they can to give back throughout their lives. Whether it’s my mom mentoring kids at the high school or my dad taking extra time to teach someone about real estate or helping teenage athletes find scholarships to college and much more.
I decided to start this Go Fund Me campaign in order to give them more peace of mind and try and relieve some of the stresses that are in their life right now. People often ask me what they can do to help, and this can be one small thing that can make a big impact. So in the season of giving if you have anything to give it would be helpful, really everything counts. If you don’t have anything and want to help in a different way let me know I can help you figure out what would be beneficial. Also my family has never been one to ask much of others without being able to give back or being willing to work for it, so another thing that would be helpful is if you or anyone you know has a house they want to sell or buy, my mom would love to help you find your dream home or if you have one to sell any where in the state she would love the business during this time. Her team has already offered to back up any needs for her clients as well. She also does decorating and would be grateful for the work! Thank you for your time and thanks for the support.
